HOW TO SETUP CHARACTER FOR UNREAL ENGINE 4   A  TO Z (2020)


Hello, Friends This me Gour Hari Ghosh. I told you how to setup character  for Unreal engine 4

A To Z. See this Image


Friends first got to Your unreal engine 4. you anyone version use it for Unreal engine. see the Image 

unreal engine 4 selects the C++  project Select the First-person and create your project unreal engine 4   Name. your need According.   

Then load your projet for Unreal engine 4 and visual studio All  Component loading. you see the you 

first-person shooter game. Look  at this Image unreal engine4 first person shooter.

You See this type Look your project. now go your unreal engine  Content Browser press the Mouse 

C++ project folder Open then unreal engine C++ folder Right Mouse Click you see new C++ class.

 Then the unreal. engine Content browser new C++ click it. see this unreal engine  Image



you see the All of Class unreal engine C++ you chose  Character class. then next you Character name 

your need According. chose public or private you want Anyone folder for unreal engine. This Class 

unreal engine your C++  Character name.

Unreal Engine 4 C++ character name selected Right mouse click to create Blueprint class base 


On the character base. name it your need According. this your unreal engine blueprint character. double 

a click opens it. you See the Capsul your characters. Then unreal engine fist person character deleted 

And Import new character. go to the maximo.com And download your characters.you do not know how to Import

open your  blueprint 


you see the capsule. now unreal engine 4 Select the mesh. then you look Skelatel mesh chouse you 

character. Then reposition it. now go to the +Add component Button search SpringArm Above the 

springArm and search the camera. After that camera repositions it. Then Save & compile. Unreal engine

now go you C++ folder select Game base mode Classe. Above right mouse click create a blueprint

Game base mode this you need According to name it. now Open blueprint Game base mode  select  

default pawn class to your blueprint character. Save & compile it. then go to your project setting 



Maps & modes you see default game select you blueprint game base mode. then save & compile.

now go to you unreal engine play button 




you see your level character play.

Friends look the Images 


Now go your unreal engine 4 content browser C++ Folder create C++ classes payer Controler
 
just Abobe the Images. now Select the player controller C++ class right mouse Click And create 

Blueprint playerControler. Then go to your Bluprint Game base mode Double click open it You the 

Images 
 


you See the player Controller Class Select the BlueprintplayerController  Class  now go to your 

project setting



Input you See the Action Mapping Axis Mapping  All delete Input. After that create you create Two 

Axis mapping fast name is Move forward. Set the Button two W or S, unreal Engine project Setting 

next Axis mapping right forward set the two-button A or D just like See the Image 


this Setup you Complete your unreal engine. now go tour player controller double Click open it. got to 

the Even graph. unreal engine 4  even graphs Right-mouse click to search the input Axis you See move 

forward. get it. After that, you search playercameramanger. drag the playercameramanger and Search

the get camera rotation. drag camera rotation gets forward vector. then Alone Search get player pawn

drag the Add MovementInput. See the Image Blueprint




same to you Connect your blueprint. lets Setup up your jump blueprint. Right Mouse Click Search 

the Action Mapping jump.then Alone Search blueprint get player pawn drag  the cast to character

Connect the jump Action mapping to the cast to the character. now drag the jump. see the Image 



now unreal engine setup your camera Axis drag the look upAxies connect the pitch Input. the search 

you right lookup connect the yaw input See this Image blueprint







Then Setup your blueprint. now  go to your character viewport the select the character 

movement(integer) right side Scroll down character(rotation setting) tick the Orient rotation  Movement

this Setup you see your character One place Still rotation then some Another setting go select the 

Spring Arm camera Setting All tick  see the Image


unreal engine blueprint Setup:-

friends now I told you how Setup your blueprint character. first, go to your unreal engine 

Content browser press right mouse click you see the  Animation. then unreal engine Content browser 

Animation click opens it you look Animation blueprint now click the mouse. unreal engine Ask what

 is you Skeltel you create Animation blueprint. you Select your own character. look your unreal 

engine Content browser See your character Animation  blueprint   unreal engine Content browser

Animation blueprint opens it. See the Image Animation blueprint



unreal engine Animation blueprint event graph Search the try get pawn owner next drag cast to your 

character name  then As your name you drag create promote variable. unreal blueprint promotes 

variable rename it. now drag your own character unreal blueprint next Search the Isvalid?. now 

isvalid? blueprint not valid Connect your cast to character See the Abobe Image blueprint.  next 

unreal engine blueprint search the Sequence now Connect IsValid? blueprint Connect Sequence.

now friends create character movement first drag your unreal blueprint own character then drag

get velocity. this variable your character Speed variable. unreal blueprint own character drag

get the mesh this variable your character mesh now drag the unreal blueprint get mesh search get 

Woldtranformation this variable your camera rotation. now drag unreal blueprint Invers transform 

the direction this variable your character direction Setup. next velocity drag your Invers transform 

direction.  next, create And drag you invers transform direction promote variable. rename it Speed.

you promote variable connect Sequence!1 See the Above Images.

unreal blueprint create jump Setup:- 

unreal engine event graph drags your own character. unreal blueprint own character drags the get 

movement character next friends unreal blueprint drag the Is falling then drag And create promote

variable.  this variable name falling. promote variable connect the Sequence 2 . now Setup you're All

unreal engine blend Space Setup:- 

friends now i told you unreal blend Space Setup fist go to your unreal Content browser right mouse 

click you see Animation. now unreal Animation click you See the ht blend Space click it. 

unreal engine  Ask you who is character blends space creates. you chose your character skeletal. 

rename it you want your need According. next, you See your blend Space unreal Content browser

Friends double click  open you blend Space, please See the Image

 

 
Friend Abobe the Image your blend Space this type Show you. you See the left Side Horizontal Axes

name  Speed. horizontal is your left and right side direction. next, you see unreal engine vertical Axes

this your up And down direction. horizontal Axes  maximum =-300, minimum =300, same vertical 

Axes  maximum =-300, minimum =300, now See the Image friends next to your right side you see

Asset Animation drags your Animation blend graph. your need According. now go to your unreal 

engine The content browser you blueprint open it. Anim graph you See. here you look final pose 

Animation blueprint. now, Friends, you right mouse click Search the Add new state machine. this state 

machine yu connect you Final pose Animation. next friends double click to open your State machine 

you see entry drag Add new State. name your state machine Run/idel. now double click open you 

then drag you blend space And connect your final pose Animation. you look direction And Speed you

see So what you Ask what are doing this time. drag you Invers transform diraction variable. this 

variable right-click Split it you See X, Y, Z direction. X connects you direction. And y Connect your 

Speed. next friends save compile. play your game.  your character move Walk idel Animation.
